We took the 35 mile ride to Savur just for one night. It was recommended for being devoid of tourists and having a great place to stay. Just a bonus stop along our way. The accommodations were outstanding and, to be honest, we didn't leave the entire day we were there. We relaxed, read, had probably one of the best meals of our trip made by the family that lives here, and tried a couple bottles of local wine during and after dinner. The wine wasn't anything to write home about (although I guess we sort of just did), but the quiet evening on the roof terrace just listening to the quiet couldn't have been undone by even the worst bottle.
While we were there a lady of the family read the grounds of our Turkish coffee for us. (A common way to predict your future here.) The best we could figure through rough translation from Turkish to English is that Liz is going to get an important call from the government (we hope it is for a teaching job and not an audit), I have three friends, but one has it out for me (I'll be watching), and I'm going to get an important call and it will lead to a lot of money (someone please check my messages!)
Enjoy!
