Day 2:
I had so much left to do in Florence. I wanted to see the statue of David and left early for the gallery. Another long line but David was a sight for sore eyes. Wow, I am again amazed at the ability of human beings! This time out of admiration. The statue is carved with so many details. After that I paid a visit to the Duomo, a church dedicated to the St John, the city's patron saint.

Market where I bought my briefcase
I wanted to go to more museums but decided that I was museumed out for the day. I took a long stroll on Ponte Vecchio and bought myself some fine Italian leather--a briefcase! I used my MBA negotiation skills to buy this beautiful handmade leather briefcase. I love it. While carrying my prized possession, I walked across the bridge. Not wanting to miss my train, I headed back early. I bought a small carryon luggage because I ran out of space for 12 euros. Florence is certainly a shopping haven for poor tourists like me.
