I'll begin at breakfast, there we are having a delightful breakfast in the hotel when this German man and his wife and son enter the dinningroom. Clan Schmidt is doing no harm with Rowan eating his high sugar "fruit loops" and wee Elodie playing next to the table. Now I dont know in Germany if babies have a mute button or don't laugh and giggle but our German "friend" clearly had a problem with our doodie...
Firstly he was stood clear as day looking us all up and down and shaking his head at Elodie
After breakfast Natalie the kids and I made our way to the pool/jaccuzi area. We had this area all to ourselfs until who turns up at the gate ...only the Germans! His wife was stood outside the poolside entrance with the son and when the German daddy came along they had a quick discussion and didnt enter because of us! Now again Elodie wasnt crying she was playing in the pool and so was Rowan happy as larry, could not be happier! So I dont know what the guys problem is, he obviously has a disliking to happy babies and mabey in Germany babies dont have fun. Breakfast should be interesting in the morning...i might need to hit this German over the head with a bagel and a packet of fruitloops.......what a coissant of a man!
Anyways the rest of the day was glare free, we had some frozen yogurt again our new addiction. We sunbathed, I forgot my towel today so I fell asleep sprawled out in a star shape on the bare sand with only my bag at my feet, whilst the schmidts played in the park. We also hired a bike for all 5 of us and peddled along the beach front. Unfortunately Rowan didnt take to the bike as much as last time so Arno took Rowan back too the beach and so Natalie,Elodie and I were left peddling on Ventura beach front. Obviously something crazy was bound to happpen and yip you guessed it, it did. I was incharge of steering and Natalie and I both peddled. Elodie was suppose to wear a helmet however she kept pulling it off so we lay it in our front basket. Just as I said to Natalie "let's test this speed to the max" we peddled quicker than the flintstones and zoomed right over a bump and clash the helmet in the basket fell out the front. Yes a helmet which protects heads from falls snapped in two because not only did the helmet fall out the front but we drove right over the top of it.....whooopsies! Who said women werent good drivers? Only our luck would we drive right over the top of a helmet at high speeds! I can tell you we did test the bikes speed to the max resulting in a mangled helmet! From todays experiment we can conclude helmets serve no protection when crushed by a moving bike wheel
Tonight we had a lovely dinner next to the sea and beach front. The dinner table had an open fire inside it and patio heaters. We were the only people brave enough to eat outside and had a cozy dinner on our second last night! I went for my fave fish and chips and so did natalie. It was amazing and arrived in oldskool paper like the olden days of chippys!! It was top fish and freshly cooked with strips of cod and peppered chips...by the fire this was an amazing dinner!
