Ventura is similar to the previous two towns we have visited
. The beach is next to Santa Barba beach and runs for miles and miles. Like before in the middle of the beach stretches a long pier and again the beach is a popular amoung surfer dudes. I love places like this, the weathers good, the people are chilled and the houses along the coast and hills are amazeballs. Today we stopped in a Ventura cafe for lunch and were greeted by a late 50's lady who had long grey pleats tucked into a Quicksilver hat and was so relaxed and cool with life she took half an hour to make our sandwiches. Like I said to Natalie there is no rush with life in these places, everything is perfect and that comes accross from the people we see. A vast contrast from Scotland where every second person has a moan and rushes about life! After lunch which after waiting 30mins was totally delicious we headed to the beach!
The day at the beach was hard working I can tell you, I made tunnels, sunbathed, made tunnels, sunbathed some more, dipped my toes in the sea....slept in the sand as it was comfier than my nights sleep and I finished the day hiding elodies pooh....
yip you read the above line correct what a lovely ending to the perfect day. Elodie had her nappy off for all of mabey 25mins....probz not even that. There I am lying on my towel with Elodie next to me
. It's just me and her as roro and natalie were playing by the sea and arno swimming....There I am chatting away to my well mannered niece when I saw she was frozen in time I thought uuh whats she upto......well the rest you can immagine. What followed was me holding in my gag reflex ......lots of signals to natalie and alot of shovelling sand...
It must be like mother like daughter because without going into too much detail ,natalie we all remember the story of Cornwall when you were a tiny momo?
Apart from this inncident I loved vebtura beach.....pismo beach had alot smoother sand and the sea was a little clearer where as here in Ventura, you only have to dip youur toes in the sea and you come ouut with seaweed wrapped round your ankle!tomorrow were going to head further round the beach so mabey the sea will change.
Tonight we had dinner in a proper American diner like out of Greese the movie! It was amazing, listening to Sam Cooke on our own jukebox, eating american pancakes and having giant cokes! The decor was so old skool I loved it and we had our own wee red booth! It was totally amazing and for sure if I lived local it would be my fav place in town. The town of Ventura or well weve only really seen the high street so far is cute cute cute
! The little botique stores are lovely and the streets are clean, fresh and cozy. It's a great change from glasgow.......I dont know if it's because the weathers better here or people respect the town they live in but I sure wish Glasgow would take a leaf out of these towns books...its lovely.
Love Love Love
ps. I'm back in a comfy double bed and super soft pillows.(I know maw what kind of pillows I want for my room now maw)hehee!
Goodnight Y'all X
Well I havent woken up with a trapped nerve nor have I needed a wheelchair or carryout of my "bed" but instead I have woken up in Natalies bed!!?!...as soon as I heard Arno leave to start some work at 5am this morning I darted up and made my way straight to natalies comfy double bed. Theres only so much of springs digging into my ribs I can take plus being folded in a sandwich at the bottom of the matress and at the top is about as comfy as a shark pedicure. I'd like to ask the owner where she purchased this sheet of paper of a matress from? and when like 400years ago?springs were snapping like twigs and thats not even counting the 50 or so natalie snapped when she was lying on my bed to write her blog last night! An awful sleep but beds and matresses aside its onto our final stop :(.....sad I know, Ventura here we go!
