Flag of Spain and Canary Islands  , Catalonia,

arrived exhausted from ibiza so had a quiet dinner and early to bed. The next day headed to the Rambla; the famous street in barcelona and were greeted with a river of people. The fresh food markets were amazing, so fresh colourful and smelt heavenly. Had the best pineapple of my life there for 1 euro; plus heaps of rasberries and blackberries; also very cheap. Took a tour of Gaudis architecture; which u can see in my photos. The way he brought nature into the built environment is stunning. Wish i could type more about it right now but the french keyboard is making it tres difficile!!

The next day we headed to the beach which was actuqlly really nice; good waves and niceish sand. Got busted sitting on the deckchairs which we thought were free::: asked to pay 5 euros each: we stalled for a while then made a break for it when the guy wasnt looking:

Toured the Gothic district in the afternoon __ absolutely beautiful buildings and history. once again I want to type more but cant: will bore u all with my tales when I return to sydney. Met some cool english people on the tour and went out for amazing tapas for only 10 euro a head. mmmm patatas bravas; paella; croquettas; and more: Drank heaps of sangria and tinto de vereano and had a blast:

The next day we returned to the beach and got massages while lying in the sun __ heaven!! ate fresh fruit from the markets all day then had to say farewell to tara who flew out to england: spent the rest of my time lying in the gorgeous parks reading and eating iceblocks.

Sadly had to say goodbye to spain and head to France that night: But before I leave spain on this blog; will make a quick note of a few things Ive noticed here:

° everyone has some kind of crazy piercing
°its so hot but the heat is really dry, not humid so u can cope
° meat! its everywhere! if i eat another jamon (ham) sandwich im going to die
° music is everywhere too:::every street corner; every chapel; every house: you can hear the strains of guitar; piano; anything as long as it has a melody. I love it:
° Beer is soooo cheap. 1 pint for 80 cents; oh yeah!
° Everyone is so lovely; havent encountered any rude spanish people so far; feel really welcome in this country

Farewell to spain: I know Ill be back; hopefully with a greater grasp on the language. I think ill have to live here for a little while one day: Until then; au revoir and onto France!
