We checked into our room and immediately took off to explore the islands
We were told to meet at 5 to go sea creature hunting. Whatever that meant, we thought we shouldn't miss it. We arrived at the beach, as the sun was gently falling behind the mountains over the sea and saw crowds of people with shovels and hoes. All we heard as we got closer were screams and shrills and saw the locals pouring salt in little holes in the sand. All the sudden, out pops pencil shaped sea creatures that we eventually found out were razor clams. For some reason, these little slimy sea life either love the salt, or are trying to escape from the salt. But in any event, after serious concentration and dedication, we caught about 5 and Lisa insisted that we ate these delicacies.
After dinner, we played a good round of catch phrase and headed to the beach for our campfire. We ate the roast clams, listened to tunes and drank soju around the campfire on the beach. Lisa and I spend a good hour reminiscing about our Central American travels and sharing our stories. The next day we hiked and spent the afternoon basking in the sun on the beach. The trip really inspired me to buy a bike and start cycling in Cheorwon! Great weather, great scenery, great company, which all made a truly great weekend!
