We changed our Euro into Czech kroner on the St Charles bridge which was not a good move, cos we saw way better exchange rates only a little further out of the tourist-y area
Next door to the camping ground was a big Czech punk/metal concert, so some really interesting people around! Funny to hear lots of familiar songs sung in Czech! In the evening caught a packed out tram - literally you could not fit more people on it, we were all pressed up together like sardines - into town to go clubbing. Went to a big 5-story discotechque....
The next morning slept in, Scotty cooked all us hungover souls a feast of bacon, eggs and garlic sauted mushrooms :o) By the time I dragged Mat out of bed, and we got into town in was almost lunchtime. Scotty showed us a little secret Czech pub and we had a great lunch - goulash, dumplings, potato pancakes... and the beer was cheaper than water, and much much cheaper than Coke! 30kr for a pint..
After lunch Scotty and I went to a Salvador Dali exhibition, where we encountered probably the rudest man I've ever met (don't expect good customer service in Prague!)
Went to the communism museum, which was interesting but probably wouldn't go again - too much writing, Mat gave up after about 5 minutes and waited outside! Bought the makings of sandwiches from the underground supermarket at the metro station and went back to camp for a picnic dinner. Saw a really terrible dog fight, with a little dog getting savaged by a pit bull. Lucky Sib (the vet) was on hand to sort it all out, it was pretty scary.
On the way out, had a bit of a junk food shopping spree at a service station to use up the last of my Czech money...
