After getting up we went to the French Market for coffee and doughnuts. We said goodbye to Bin and his wife and at midday headed out of New Orleans, its reputation with us much improved by the experience of the previous 24 hours.

We drove through Mississippi, Alabama, and into Florida.  On the way we had a flat tyre, which basically was worn out, and discovered another was worn down to the canvass.  We limped along to a service station where we managed to buy and have fitted two tyres for $8.

We turned down to Pensacola and along the Miracle Strip.  Eating chicken in a mosquito infested picnic area proved uncomfortable.

We drove overnight to Jacksonville on the Atlantic Coast.
