With an early start, we visited Knotts Berry Farm at Buena Park, a theme park of life in pre-war California: it was quite well done and a pleasant place.

Then it was on to Disneyland in nearby Anaheim.  The best shows in Disneyland were the free ones, sponsored by some of the major American corporations, especially America the Beautiful (a 360 degree cinema showing film of the country's famous natural wonders, shot from an aircraft so that as it rolls and banks the audience has to grab the handrails to prevent falling over, which Ray nearly did).  Most enjoyable were Bobsled, People Mover, Skyway Pirates, Mark Twain Boat, Haunted House, Train Ride, and Toad’s Wild Ride.  Disneyland was a bit crowded, but it was all very well managed.

It was another tiring day in hot weather – we all flopped in the car and lucky to get home without sleeping.
