A quick check just now shows that the Radio Free Amsterdam website is back up and running after a few days out of action. Tune in and subscribe to our podcasts at www.RadioFreeAmsterdam.com or review my radio show archives at www.JohnSinclairRadio.com while my own website www.johnsinclair.us remains out of service.

My server is CannabisHosting, part of the SelfHemployed empire, and my young friends Joeri and Sidney have been in a bit of a turmoil of late, so it's really quite amazing that they've been able to keep anything together.

About six weeks ago, around the time when my website went down, they were forced by their landlord to close down their Funky Farmers shop on the Nieuwe Hoogstraat. The shop and the SelfHemployed offices had to put all their stuff into storage and Joeri lost access to his computer array Ann Arbor Sun--Way Back in the Game

. Then Sidney opened up the shop a few blocks away on the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, right next to La Bettola, where it's now open and soon to get a new name.

Then they negotiated a new lease for the Funky Farmers space in which the landlord allowed no cannabis activity whatsoever, and they agreed to open a juice bar in the front with the SelfHemployed offices in the rear. They're getting set up now: The juice bar will open next week, and Cannabis Hosting will soon be back up at full strength-and my website along with it, god willing.

We've done episodes of the John Sinclair Radio Show at both La Bettola and Funky Farmers, and you can listen to them here:

This week's podcast is program #80, the second show recorded in 2006, 'live' from the Voyagers Rest studios in Oxford MS on February 3, as described below. We've got a second Voyagers Rest program with terrific 'live' performances by Afrissippi singer/guitarist Guelel Kumba, recorded January 22nd, and I'm trying to convince Henk to put it up there now.

But tomorrow we'll be going back over to Utrecht for the Spring edition of the Giant Record Show at Jaarbeurs Utrecht with our friend Cas Bosland, the promoter of the event, and Henk'll probably want to get that one up right away Greyhound

The John Sinclair Radio Show #80
Voyagers Rest, Oxford, Mississippi
Friday, February 3, 2006 @ 3:15- 4:15 pm [20-0602]

This Friday afternoon in early February I took a little stroll from the Two Stick over to Justin Showah's Voyagers Rest studio to join our special guests for this episode of the Radio Show, the Hattiesburg-based guitarist, composer and singer Cary Hudson and the noted Oxford guitarist, composer and singer Tate Moore, who's just released his new album Punk Poet. We got each of them to perform 'live' in the studio, played some records by Olu Dara, the Taylor Grocery Band, and Tate's former ensemble, the Kudzu Kings, another cut from the forthcoming Blues Scholars album Natural From Our Hearts, and enjoyed some fine Mississippi conversation.

Love your jam
Hey, John -- I finally got a chance to open up your
Oxford show with Afrissippi and I love it.

Tomorrow (Sunday) we're having a soiree in our home,
with friends dropping in all afternoon and evening.
Leni will stop by with her Abert Ayler video (we've
been trying to get an interested venue for a screening
of it, but the only success she's had is getting BACK
from the DIA after it was lost for some months). Other
delights tomorrow will be a movie on the life of Paul
Gaugin, offered by Howard Weingarden and the video
'Indeterminacy' by John Cage, offered by yours truly.
Later in the day folks from Horizons poetry group will
drop by, with your podcast playing in the background
for welcome.
What will be circulating around is ideas for a new
round of DAW events, an artists' showcase that feeds
into a public education project.
Yours
James
