New Orleans to Houston

This isn't much of an entry but I wanted to show the idiotic way the airlines organize one's travel around their hubs instead of one's travel needs. To go from New Orleans to Amsterdam is to go east, right? For a long way. But this trip started with an hour in the air WEST to Houston, a fairly smooth change to the trans-Atlantic plane, and the long flight east across the ocean to the Netherlands. At least when one gets here things start making a little more sense....
