After a night in a Lima airport hotel, took a lunchtime flight to Cusco. My friend Jane met me at the airport and took me straight back to her flat. I met Jane in Glasgow - she has since moved away from Scotland but is currently taking her own six month break from the UK, doing TEFL and teaching in Cusco. Jane shares a basic but relatively nice flat with two American girls, Katie and Anna.
As I wasnīt that tired and didnīt seem to have any altitude sickness, the four of us headed into town for the night. I think we must have visited nearly every club in Cusco; free drink vouchers and no door charge led to a long and drunken night. Home at 3am. Sun up at 6am - v hung over, but a very rock and roll start to my trip, no?
Saturday was a slower day; pottered around town, all day breakfast for lunch, Vuellto crepes for dinner, and then met up with a local bar owner Jane knows, Caesar. Ended up in one of his bars, Kilometer Zero. Needless to say, with over 15 hours flying under my belt and only 2 hours sleep, I begged for my bed pretty early and was back at the flat by midnight.
(As this is my first proper blog entry you may have noticed my spelling and grammar ainīt so good. I could blame it on odd, knackered Spanish internet cafe keyboards but the truth is Iīm lost without Spell Check.)
