So I have been thinking today and I came to a conclusion. When the good lord "Jehovah" created Johnny Nomad he did not have Mongolian winters in mind! I really believe that when God was making me he had the idea that he wanted to create a "vessel for love" and not "warmth" on his mind.

Proof that I was not made for Siberian winters: I lack two crucial cold weather defenses.
1. Fat
2. Fur

Here is an example of how cold it is here. I decided to go out and see a movie at the cinema tonight. Of course the first thing I thought of was that I needed some pre-movie snacks (my snacks never make it past the previews for some reason?) So I went down to the local bodega to see what I could scrounge up to fill my pockets with. I was looking for snacks to sneak into the movie of course (that is how I roll!) I got a Pepsi off the shelf and a few candy bars. I decided on the way to cinema that I wanted to enjoy the show with a "frosty beverage" instead. No worries I thought to myself....... all I had to do was take the can out my pocket and hold it out away from my body for about 5 min and then "Disco" I had a tasty "cold drink" to enjoy the show with (unfortunately at the expense of my partially frost bitten hand!)

Well looks like I am heading out to Russia in the morning. I actually have mixed felling about it. When I first got to Mongolia I had no idea how much I would enjoy it here? Ulaanbaatar is not a city of first impressions. But after spending a good amount of time here I have really grown to like it. The best way to describe UB is that it is a really ugly little city with a big heart. I was upset this morning when all my friends set out for a 6 day trip out into the country side with out me. The thing is the Russian visa process turned out to be much more complicated then I ever imagined. I have been waiting over 2 weeks for my visa to process. After all is said and done here I am today the proud owner of a $140 Russian visa. The problem is when I filled out the visa form they made me put in the exact dates that I wanted to be in Russia. I had no idea that I would want to spend more then 3 weeks in Mongolia when I first arrived. But it really does not matter anymore because my visa for Russia is only for 21 days and it started 2 days ago. So whether I am ready or not it's off to Russia in the morning for the Nomad show!
