It has been a few days since my last entry............I have been away from Internet access! Life is Great! I spent the last 5 days relaxing/swimming/scuba diving in the amazingly clear blue waters of the South China Sea. I was living in a small hut on a beautiful secluded jungle island just a few miles off the Northen coast of Malaysia. I meet some really nice people and was having a great time but as always with my life the question of "should I stay, or should I continue on with my journey" came up? That is one of the hardest parts about living the life of a travler. We live on the pursuit of temporary highs! You meet really great people but you know that "good bye" is just around the corner. Just part of living the life of and eternal foreigner I guess? My friends were trying to get me to go down to Indonesia with them but that was never part of my plans so I decided to move along solo. I was really intrigued with life on the island. There were partially clad Eurpopean girls on the beach tanning topless in only thongs living side-by-side with fully covered Muslium ladies with only there hands and eyes exposed to the sun. This is my first true display of the East colliding with the West? I was not sure what to think about the whole thing? Are the locals exploiting there morals in the quest for the American $$, or they just that open minded to the outside world? Anyway the island did not have electricity much less an ATM and I was out of money so I had to move on. I wanted to see some of the Malysian jungle but did not have the energy to deal with the hassle of that right now. So a last minute decision brings me to where I am now.................................. A 19 hour journey latter here I am a few miles North of the Equador in the ultra modern ethnic crock-pot of Singapore. I decided to make my way to the Soutern most point of my journey and start working my way North. I will spend the next 11 weeks are so making my way to Hong Kong. Singapore seems really super chic and modern from first glance. I have not seen much but it looks really nice! They do not play games here! It is spotlessly clean probably due to the fact that the laws are STRICT! The train system is unbelievably nice! I saw a sign on the train this morning that it is a $750 fine for eating/drinking/smoking on the train. Singapore is the country that some of you might remember made the world news in 1994 when the 18 yr old American Michael Frey plead guilty to vandalism and was canned for the crime. Drug trafficking in Singapore carries a mandatory death penalty- CRACK is WHACK here KIDS! Well gotta make my way out into the big world and explore what is out there. I have not had a chance to go to the ATM yet here in Singapore! I do not think I have enough Singapore money in my pocket to pay for this Internet? Maybe I will make a run for it? Wait that might not be a good idea????? Sleeping to Dream -Johnny Nomad

the women are boss
i think guilin is en route to hong kong. i regret not going there and the surrounding cities. supposed to be beautiful rice patties. also, practicing this dance will kill hours on the train.

give us some pictures to look at. chinese women are very hardcore. they drive the big busses, do the jackhammering on the streets. I saw one carrying an large monitor underneath one arm like it was nothing. she was a third my size. i also got yelled at alot by them but i dont know if they were upset or just very excited. i politely asked them each time to please stop yelling at me but that never did anything.
