First let me tell you life in NYC is going good! I am getting excited about my upcoming journey! But first here is the interesting story of how I ended up here in the big Apple living it up in a deluxe apartment in the sky! I meet my friend "Suzi Wanders" in the Middle of the malaria infested Amazon jungle over a year ago (April 05.) We meet by random chance in a small jungle bar over run with prostitutes. I know what you are thinking! The answer to that is no!! I was not selling my body for pocket change! Even though I had many offers on the table! OK moving on! She was one of the only other people there speaking English so me and my friends invited her over to our table to hang out. After a few hours of beers I never really thought about her again. Then we meet up again by an absurd random coincidence 7 months latter in North Africa!?!

Situation: It was 4:30 AM and I was onboard an armed military convoy in Northern Egypt en route to the Sudanese boarder to see an Egyptian ruin. In walks Suzie Wonders. She recognized me right away. We spent a week hanging out along the Nile River and then went our separate ways again. I gave her a call when I was planning this trip. And here I am 7 months latter hanging out with her on our third continent together living it up for 2 weeks in Upper Manhattan before I make the big leap into my journey! She is a Harvard grad and professional travel writer. You can check out her travel writings and her article she wrote about me by goggling Johnny Nomad. My friend Suzi the World Traveler that I am staying with here in NYC (2 degrees away) is a personal friend of Matt Dylan (1 degree away) who was in Wild Things with Kevin Bacon. Soooo everyone reading this e-mail is within 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon!
