Hey all!

Well this morning we arrived in Warsaw, Poland. I didn't say where we were going as I wanted to surprise Mum. My grandfather was Polish (from my Mum's side) so I think Mum was pretty stoked when we gave her a call from the 'homeland' :)

We arrived at about 8:00 this morning after an overnight train ride. It was freezing cold outside the train but unfortunately our cabin had broken airconditioning and was sitting at about 30-35 degrees which made it pretty hard for me to sleep. I am buggered today after only a couple of hours sleep!

We organised a 3.5 hour tour which started at 2:00 and killed some time walking around the city until it started. First impressions were that it is a very clean city, must more modern than I expected, but very congested with traffic! We had the traditional Pierogi (spelling?) for lunch which was nice.

The tour was great and we saw so much more than if we had just blindly wandered around town. The world war two history was really interesting and the royal bath gardens were amazing. The highlights were watching the squirrels, and almost getting beheaded by some strange guys on the street at night (dont ask, check out the photos when I get them uploaded!) :)

Half of the tour was at night once the sun had set... at 4:30pm! We finished the tour and went back to the same restaurant that we had lunch in and ordered a local specialty, roast duck with apples. It tasted great, no regrets there!

Anyhow, I'll have to keep this one short cos our train is coming soon! Tonight we are doing yet *another* train, this time heading back down to Vienna, Austria.

Disgusting note: Tomorrow will be our third day with no accommodation (just sleeper trains) and hence the third day without a shower... gross!!

Bye for now,
