On Friday morning, we left Bilbao (see previous entry) and went to San Sebastian, a beach city on the Northeastern coast of Spain. Both the Spaniards and French (San Sebastian is very close to France) flock to San Sebastian in the summer to soak up the sun. To avoid the crowds, we went this weekend. And although it was cloudy at times, the beach was pretty awesome.
The city of San Sebastian

The vegetable market

San Sebastian's most popular beach, La Concha.

More Pinchos! Clockwise from top: wild mushrooms and bacon on bread, a bellpepper and meat quiche, and salmon/shrimp with an onion/bellpepper/cilantro vinaigrette. Sooooo good!

From the left: Morcilla (black sausage) and fish in the same vinaigrette.

Pincho heaven. The waiter is pouring sidra, a Spanish apple cider. The dish in the front is octopus!

Mushroom with bacon again, and ham with cheese and Parmesan flakes.

The best way to get to know a city... by bike! Lots of fun. We biked along the coast and all around the city.

View of San Sebastian from Monte Iguedo.

All of us.

Old lighthouse.

On Saturday, we had a picnic on the beach.

My beautiful Sandlady

Crap! My shorts are wet.
