El Calafate is a small town near the Perito Moreno glacier. It's touristy but it's nice, the whole town made me think of Christmas. The Perito Moreno glacier outside town is HUGE, it's one of only a few glaciers in the world that's still growing...as you watch it every now and again bits break off and plunge into the icy water, making a hell of a noise. I just got the regular bus there which was cheaper than doing a tour and leaves you there for 3 hours which is plenty of time to see the glacier. It was snowing when I got there and so after watching it for about an hour and a half I was cold and went into this kiosk to get something to eat and while I was in there a big lump of ice fell off the end and I missed it! But I saw a good few other bits falling off so it was alright.
