This morning I completed the baptism counseling at the Feast. Two ladies from Got Kachola and one from Migori came to the Feast ready for baptism and will be baptised tomorrow. After the morning counsellings each day, I meet with the deacons along with our 17 local congregational leaders. We discuss the day's schedule, camping issues, activity details, and general questions regarding serving their congregations at home. This has been a very helpful and necessary daily meeting that brings everyone up to speed and unifies us. The leaders have been giving the prayers as well as some sermonettes and songleading. In addition, each is assigned as a Feast camp monitor of the brethren they serve at home. They are also preparing to teach the members how to take down and store the tents they have been using before going home after the Feast. Today the leaders mentioned how grateful the brethren are to be camping in tents this year. The enjoy the change and have quickly grown accustomed to tenting together
This afternoon the members are going on a bus tour of the wildlife in Hell's Gate National Park along with a tour of the geothermal electricity generating KenGen plant there. The internationals went by boat across the lake to Crescent Island to walk among the herds of African animals placed there for the filming of the movie, "Out of Africa." We enjoyed the afternoon as well as the return boat ride back to camp during which we viewed some 40 hippos in various groups along the lake's edge.
Boat trip
. A Fish Eagle Lodge staff member remarked to me how much they appreciate our group being here. He said that other groups as small as ten people often give them big problems, while our group of 250 is a joy to have here. Sunday the lodge evicted a wealthy group staying here for a multi-day event refunding their money. In contrast to me he said, "Your Church is welcome here anytime." All the components at this Feast have truly made it the best Feast we have ever had since I have been serving here.
