23 April - After a night of often heavy rainfall across the peaceful valley, the sun's first rays lit the mountains across the lake in warm hues of orange and red. The animal herds below slowly meandered on their treks seeking foods of various types. After breakfast we encountered large families of Rothschild giraffe, black-faced vervet monkeys, impala, wart hog, common duiker and a large terrapin. After a sumptuous lunch we will hunt for leopard as we make our way out of the park and on to Nairobi where we will begin our 30 hours of flights and travel home to awaiting loved ones in Arizona. Our trip has accomplished all of its intended purposes well above expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated Ed Dowd's company as well as his invaluable contributions only a professional project manager could make.
