Not really much to tell here. our flight from Auckland to Santiago was easily the worst we´ve taken yet! Not only did we have to adjust to the time difference, but we crossed the international dateline, gaining a full day in the process. This meant that despite an 11 hour flight we arrived in Chile before we´d even left NZ!
That night we saw a slide show of 2 potential trips leaving from our hostel: one went north into the Atacama Desert for 10 days; the other went south to the Lake District for 7 days. Both looked stunning on the pictures but we only had time to do one of them - the Lake District. Our bodies told us to sleep for 4 days after THAT flight, but we left first thing next morning on a bus of 8, plus Guide and Driver.
