Santorini...anymore volcanic eruptions or earthquakes to come? I hope not.
HE SAID: ... SHE SAID: Holy crap. Beautiful. As beautiful, or surpassing Mykonos, but I really don't want to compare them. The difference though, is that Santorini is much higher above sea level, and one side has developed to be a cliff due to years of natural disasters. STAYING WITH FAMILY John and I had a chance to spend time with my relatives who are Greek Armenian, (along with another guest for some of the time, a lovely lady from Athens) in their place in Santorini. Their place was around the middle of the island at one of the highest points, it looked like (in Pyrgos), so one side had a good view of the ocean from afar, the other side looked toward Thira, the main city in Santorini....just gorgeous. With the help of their friendly neighbours, we rented a car for the time we were there which made this portion of the trip extra easy, comfortable, and wonderful!
OVERALL -lots of beach and ocean -some siesta naps -amazing home cooked Armenian/Greek meals -wine tastings -sunset viewings -basically, paradise More thumbnails ...
