So windy, so many vehicles, so many little people inside all those cars, too many houses where there shouldn't be any houses, lots of big trucks driving way too fast and I may be having a panic attack.  Denver, Colorado, I hope I never travel through on your interstate again under these conditions, inside a motor home that is wobbling because of 50 mile an hour cross winds.  I almost opened up the door and jumped out!  It was awful.

John and I tried to recoup by stopping at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.  It was a beautiful side drive and we spent some time at the visitors' center.  Then we went on to Manitou Springs which is a tourist area in the original mining town with hot springs.  Mistake!  The roads weren't wide enough for a Silverado, much less a motor home.  "Stop!" was the last word spoken for many miles.

This was a good day to have behind us.  Done.

Patty Clark on

I once rode in a my first husband, Daryl's parents' motor home with 3 little kids to the Oregon Caves. I kept asking to get out and they could pick me up on the way back - sheer drop offs, with no guard rails..I was terrified! Your writing makes me laugh!
