Whew.  We are pooped and a little sunburned.  We drove back into the park pretty early this morning to get going.  (We didn't realize how early.  Arizona doesn't participate in daylight savings time.)  We found our way to the shuttles and took a short ride so we could walk the rim walk down to the next stop, the geologic center.

That was the beginning of many stops, walks, photo opportunities and lots of sunshine and light wind.  It was a very nice day along the rim of the Grand Canyon.  However, today and yesterday there was so much haze, it was difficult to see across.  They say it comes from California.  Could that be true? I used my photo editor to take out as much as possible.  We tried to take in as much as we could, but there's still plenty to do and see if we decide to return.  It is huge.

But, I found that walking the rim only made me wish I could be at the bottom, floating the Colorado River.  If I come back, that's what I would like to do.  I'd love to be looking up and seeing all the details.  When you just look at the big picture you miss so much of the reality.

One of the bikers John visited with yesterday was one of our shuttle drivers.  She recognized us right away and she and John had quite a conversation.  They discovered that she grew up in Hermiston, Oregon, and was best friends with Jody Watson, one of John's cousins, when they were kids.  It was a hoot.

It looks like we will go to Sedona tomorrow and stay at Dead Horse State Park in Cottonwood.  We will not have wi-fi while we are there.  I'm hoping to get recharge at a vortex in Sedona.  There will be much to do and see, so maybe we'll stick around for a couple of days.  I am trying to get John to take a helicopter sightseeing ride, as he thinks it would be fun.  I think I'd pee my pants.

We haven't had any Union Extended coverage for our cell phone for days.  So, sorry not to keep in touch.  We will when we can.  I hope everyone is well and happy.  Be good to each other.

I would love to float through the Grand Canyon, definetly on the bucket list.

I am so glad you are having such a grand time. It's really amazing how small the world is when you get out there and start meeting people. love and miss you both.

Thank you, Patty. When we were in Zion I actually ventured over to the next huge rv and introduced myself. The lady (from CA) and I had a really nice visit. It was like,"Oh, I've been alone with my husband for days, so nice to talk with a woman," only we ddn't have to say it out loud...just kidding.

We should just plan it. I don't want to shoot the big rapids with you, but I'd love to drift part way. It would be amazing.
