Nabeul was a definite diamond of a market town. I rented a car in Tunisia, so I made a day trip out here with my friend Lindsay. The drive from the Tunis area took nearly three hours. The main market strip in Nabeul is loaded with stalls selling the most lovely Tunisian ceramics, leather-ware, and trinkets at rock-bottom prices. The prices are so low because Nabeul produces these goods. Keep in mind that the custom in Tunisia is bartered market shopping, so expect the initial price to be astronomical. Always halve the first price you hear - and then some.
