Texting the guests: Don't go to the beach!
We took the plane from Christchurch and landed in Auckland 90 minutes later. No hijackings or stabbing the pilot like it happened a few weeks ago! Our first couple of days were spent shopping for clothes to wear on Saturday's BBQ wedding party and helping out with the preparation. We both peeled a lot of potatoes, Jo squeezed coconut milk out of a coconut and Jules prepared 60 burger patties, that was good fun and we were happy to help!Unfortunately the weatherman was right for once, Saturday morning dawned very rainy and gloomy. The party was supposed to be on the beach but in the end it took place at Matt's parents. Party and BBQ were a success, the bride and groom were a handsome couple. Jules helped Matt's dad out with the BBQ on the D day. Barbequeing with a suit was a first!

On Sunday, we all went to celebrate Matt's nephew's birthday - climbing up the trees and playing Tarzan. It was good fun and a very different kind of b-day party. Congratulations to Matt and Tina for tying the knot and Colin for his 9th Birthday!

De retour sur Auckland, retour à la case départ! Depuis notre arrivée en Octobre, en revanche, beaucoup de choses ont changés. Matt et Tina se sont mariés en Norvège, ils ont amménagés dans un nouvel appart, et Matt est désormais Manager.
Nice to get dressed up!
Nous avons pris l'avion depuis Christchurch et 90 minutes plus tard, nous atterissions à Auckland. Pas de détournement d'avion et le pilote ne s'est pas pris de coup de couteau comme c'est arrivé récemment sur un vol au départ de Christchurch. Nous avons passés les premiers jours à rechercher de quoi s'habiller décemment pour le mariage et nous avons aidés au mieux dans les préparations. Nous avons tous les deux épluchés 4.5kg de pomme de terre, Jo s'est occupé du lait de noix de coco et Julien a préparé la viande pour 60 burgers. C'était pas trop compliqué et ça nous a fait plaisir d'aider. Hélas les prévisions météo ne s'étaient pas trompées, malgré le beau temps Vendredi, nous avons eu de la pluie Samedi. La cérémonie devait se passer sur la plage mais au final, nous sommes restés chez les parents de Matt. La fête a été un vrai succès, les mariés étaient ravissants. Julien s'est occupé du barbeque - en costard, c'était une première!

Le Dimanche nous sommes allés célébrer l'anniversaire du neveu de Matt à faire les singes dans les arbres. C'était sympa de faire quelque chose de différent. Félicitations pour Matt et Tina, les nouveaux mariés, et à Colin, désormais 9 ans!
