We had a very early morning waking up at 4 am heading to Lyon to catch the morning flight to Heathrow. As planned we had pints and bought Lonely planet guide of California. We didn't know yet at this point, but this would be our bible for the next 3 weeks.
The wait was pretty long but we didn't want to take the risk to miss our plane. We were a bit scared at one point cos it really looked like there was a problem with our NZ Visas. The attendant at the check in actually had to call the NZ immigration to see if we were allowed to enter the country. Once the admin problem was sorted out, we were finally ready to go!


Debout à 4 heures, après un mois de vacances sans reveil, ce n'était pas le plus facile, direction Lyon afin de prendre notre vol pour Londres. Comme prévu, une fois à Heathrow, nous avons profité des quelques heures d'attente pour descendre une pinte ou deux et acheter le guide lonely planet Californie. Nous ne savions pas encore que ce guide serait notre bible pour les 3 semaines à venir. L'attente était assez longue mais nous ne voulions pas prendre le risque de louper notre second vol. Nous avons eu une petite frayeur lors de l'embarquement, Sans billet d'avion retour, Air New Zealand devait entrer en contact avec l'agence des immigrations du pays pour savoir si nous étions en droit d'entrer sur le territoire. Une fois l'appel passé et le problème réglé, nous étions enfin prêt pour le départ!
