Today was my last full day on Mauritius. Most of the morning was spent with a visit and counseling. I did some more office work and festival planning, and then had dinner with the Marvin and Gloria Curry, an American couple on an extended stay in Mauritius for a business project. Among other things we talked about the education and the challenges of international travel, of which they too have done quite a bit. We discussed how very useful it is to travel especially when one is young (we were thinking of their grand-children and our teens), when possible because it gives such another view of life in much of the world as well as our own blessings in what is often called "the West." Westerners, especially the young, very often don't realize how extremely blessed they are, and can easily take their blessings for granted.
