Today was both the Feast of Passover and a weekly Sabbath. We had an afternoon service in a rented room in the hotel where I was staying. Fourteen attended the service. We sang hymns during the song service, but not too loudly. As I mentioned before that can bothers people, and we wanted to be able to used the hall the next day too for the first high day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, so we didn't want to get kicked out. I gave a sermon on the topic of key obstacles we have to overcome in the Christian footrace, an analogy that is frequently used in the New Testament.
After services we talked for several hours. During that time, I played a video on my laptop showing events of 2007 in Africa as well as the Feast of Tabernacles in France.
That evening, for the evening meal we take together on what the Bible calls "a night of solemn observance" (NKJ or NAV) or "a night to be much observed"(KJ or AV). For Israel it recalled their leaving Egypt, for Christians the New Testament significance concerns liberation from sin and an old way of life through the sacrifice of Christ. We all had a pleasant dinner together at a local restaurant in a room separate from the main room.
As I like to do that evening, I asked people to tell the story of how they came to our common beliefs and made their commitment as Christians. The stories are always interesting, encouraging, and sometimes have humorous parts as well. Mr. Mrs. Audoin told their story, two coworkers of Mr. Audoin who constantly argued about the Bible finally stimulated him to buy one so he could understand what they were arguing about. He proved to himself they were both off track! About the same time he bought his first Bible, Mrs. Audoin was given a Bible by an acquaintance, so they began reading and studying together, then heard the Church's radio broadcast. It came on at 4:00 am, so Mr. Audoin bought his first tape recorder (the old kind with spools of tape), so that they could listen to again it when they were more alert! The Audoins mentioned that when they were finally baptized in a municipal swimming pool that had been reserved for the private service, by coincidence, they followed a group of nudists who had reserved the pool for a time just before them. The pool attendant said she was very confused. "First we have a group go swimming buck naked" she explained, "then we have people go swimming fully clothed!" We had a good chuckle at that story. We finally finished our five-course meal about 10:30 (ah, France!), and we said our goodbyes and took our leave of each other until we would meet again at the Feast of Tabernacles, if all goes as planned.

Hello Joel,
Nice to see all the pictures of NBO and services. The Audoins have a great baptism story! Has anyone else ever had the distinction of following a nudists' bathing party?
Regards,
Mary
