We paid 12€ each to enter "Alhambra", which at first thought was way too dear for the likes of us, but it soon paid for itself quickly when we got into the palace.
The Islamic patterns and calligraphy were simply amazing and we were astounded by the water features and gardens. We had never seen such complex decorations!
The place also had a huge Alcazaba (fortress) section which dominated over the city, giving us, despite the winter haze, a great view of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Admittedly, we spent most the time up in the castle, but the greater city area was pretty cool too. A gigantic cathedral, awesome Arab-styled buildings, and patterned pebbled streets. A damn hard place to park in, but otherwise well worth the hassle.
