The morning we woke up in Aguilas we decided to venture into the town and visit the fort at the top of the hill. The weather had turned sleazy so we kept a brisk pace to keep warm.

The Fortress up on the hill was a small price to pay and a small experience to have. The building was somewhat of an optical illusion and looked much bigger and grander from down on the beach. The cool thing about it though was that it was built to blow up pirates, which is pretty awesome. Turns out pirates were a major issue in Spain, all up the western coast we had noticed all these fortified farm houses. They were made to hold off sneaky pirates when they were hungry. Them rascals, I hope they like cannon balls if they come to Port Aguilas!
