We couldn't understand the need for so many wine shops, that was until we tried the Brunello… Its like a little morsel of heaven. It’s southern Tuscany’s answer to the Chianti. And boy does it have us divided.
We spent a whole afternoon in one of the parks overlooking the vast view. We took blankets because it was so darn chilly. Then while Jena dug into her book on ancient Rome, Joel got to foraging for pine nuts. Yes we are foragers. We could buy pine nuts, but Brunello aint cheap! So the afternoon was dedicated to cracking open pine nuts with a rock. They were delicious.
There are just so many American tourists in Tuscany this time of year. We love seeing the little swarms of them buzz around, the women snapping shots off while the men lug all the boxes of wine around. You can tell them from a mile away, they all have high denim jeans, with tucked in polo shirts. They often approach us like we are locals, then when we return their "Bonjourno" with a “Hello” they wander off saying to each other “I don’t know what language they speak?”
