We pulled into Pula which is the farthest town in Isteria because we knew that there was some thrilling ancient Roman buildings there. As soon as we came rolling in we pulled up and right before us across the road was an immaculate 1st century gladiator's arena! The whole structure was huge and so well built, the whole oval structure showed no sign of ruin and it was almost hard to believe that it was basically as old as Christianity.

All though the town there were the tell tale signs of a old Roman city, the archway and the old pagan temple was much older than the arena, something like 27BC! All these structures were still standing in all their glory, it was amazing.

As gripping as it all was, the water was calling and before we set off north again we spent the remainder of the afternoon snorkeling and sunbathing. Such a hard life.
