We all jumped in the van after the hotel fellow tried to bust us for camping outside their door. Somehow we were able to convince him that we were paying customers.
We wound our way up to a town called Tasch, where we left bigwig trustily with some crazy taxi driver. The driver then took us in a beaten up van up the pass to Zermatt, the famous town where the Matterhorn mountain stands.
The driver was insane, taking to the narrow roads like a bezerker. Jena, who was already carsick from bigwig trip, literally turned green and when the family had to make the snap decision to bolt up the gondola, we decided to stay behind and recollect ourselves in the hotel.
The Matterhorn is as magnificent as everyone says and it is just like a giant pointed ziggurat mastering over the whole town. We spent the time alone looking at it and having a beautiful hot bath. The rest of the family who went up the gondola were able to get so high, and we might just have been totally jealous if not for that long hot bath we got to enjoy.

The evening presented some other challenges though as we had dinner, Some of the difficulties of close living came to a head. Fortunately we were all better for it afterwards and ironing out the problems then seemed to be a good medicine.

The soft bed we got that evening in the hotel was a dream, and in the morning, the parents roused us to come as see the Matterhorn as the sun rose upon it. It was beautiful.
