When the time had come we had the arduous task of driving into the centre of Paris where we had to pick up Jena's parents and sister from the central station.
The traffic was terrible, but not quite as offensive as finding a parking spot. Eventually we snaked a spot in a bus zone where we sat and defended it from parking inspectors for a whole hour in the sweltering sunlight. We didn’t get caught, but got to see lots of seedy backstreets which are always riveting.
When we all met up we again hit the streets where it took us an hour and a half to travel 2km to the flat we were staying in. When we unloaded, Joel and Loren had the exciting time of finding a parking spot for Bigwig for 3 days.
3 hours later they finally set him to sleep in an underground bus parking lot after being forcefully booted from 2 other lots before. The traffic was humiliating with the heat. When they finally returned to the women they were beside themselves with worry for them because they were only supposed to be 20 minutes. The landlady assured them that they were most definitely down at the pub, as if that was some kind of consolation.
