We beelined it across the last two islands that made up Demark via two monsterous bridges and a tunnel. These bridges cost about 40 euro each to cross and they were so long! The Oresund bridge which brought us across into Sweden is 21.1km long, and on this particular day there was an immense horde of runners crossing it in a fun run.
This made it not so fun for us because traffic was very congested and we had to wait an hour to be allowed onto the bridge.

The reason we sped through Demark faster than we intended, was because of the miserable weather. Ribe had ripped a hole in our weeks budget and it just wouldn't stop raining. The wind was way too much for us as well. We understand why there are so many wind generators everywhere, it is so damn windy! The bridge cross was interesting in that regard. But luckily we didn’t have to go for a swim.

Coming into Sweden things began to cheer up and we first noticed how spread out everything was. Practically all of the houses are this rusty red colour, or a mustard yellow. When we went into a tourist center to get some maps and brochures we looked through it to see the attractions; To our surprise there are no castles, or the "castles" they have are just big houses. We imagine its because everything here is made out of wood, just as it has always been. In the old days they even had wooden roads! But why not? This place is literally drowned by the forests everywhere. Just so unspoilt. Therefore, no castles, sorry Joel.

We serendipitously found a little side road which lead out to a small spit of land in the middle of a beautiful pond. We spent the night there as if it were our own little island of paradise.

Oh, and we saw a moose running in a field. That’s our first moose ever.
