We drove up again back through Inverness to reach a coastal town, Nairn, which was home to a castle called Brodie. After doing our castle routine, which included watching a set of cute swanlings on the estate's big pond, we then drove to Dallas Dhu Distillery which is on the famous Scottish whiskey trail. We booked a tour and saw how it all is made, both historically and today. It was both fun and delicious. It was another hot day so the lucky Turners got to wear shorts again!

We drove further along the coast to come to rest along the shore of port Gordon, a small fishing village which played host to some fun ocean friends, seals! At first we thought we had lucked into a little school of salmon, but no, instead we got to watch two seals frolicking and playing together just perhaps 20 feet from our car. There was a plaque there describing the selkie myths, which are like were-seals. Although Jena thinks the Loch Ness monster is real, she has a hard time believing seals turn into humans sometimes. Joel thinks it’s so cool it must be true.
