What I did
Hundreds of oil derricks
Man, Texas is one long, big, and in some days BORING state. Today we saw a bazillion oil field derricks, drilling rigs, transport trucks, pipe supply places, etc. We also saw, as usual, the terrain continue to change, in some cases, abruptly. We went from industrial sections, to agricultural sections (cotton fields, soybeans, as far as you can see) to sagebrush, to salt flats, and, of course, dusty, downtrodden, butt-ugly towns trying to eek out a living.
Our whole recent itinerary was designed to see the Carlsbad Caverns, where we're at now
We're having a great time, though. Every day is exhilarating, and no one has gotten punched, yelled at or insulted. Wow, it's sure great to travel with someone with an even temperament, organizational talent, loving spirit, and....(I hate to admit this)...occasionally funny, even though she's a Torgerson. But I take the prize for off key love songs, and world-class lip flapping.
Over and out.
