Where I stayed
Dodge Town, Rapid City, SD
Today is actually August 31st and we are at my son, Mercury's and his wife, Carlee's house on Bainbridge Island, WA after days of driving across the northern USA. We have arrived before Carlee has gone into labor with my first grandchild. Carlee is beautiful and strong and healthy and ready for the challenge of giving birth.
This entry goes back to when we were still in Rapid City, SD and before we knew what was going to happen with Crazy Fish or buying a new RV.
Andy and I decided to take advantage of our situation and do the sightseeing we didn't do before being delayed by lightning. We were lucky to have been delayed in such an interesting and awesome area for us to explore while the mechanics and insurance company did their thing
I was taking a pix of the baby burros (donkeys) when my camera was pushed back into my face. I peeked around to find myself nose to nose with a Donkey interested in me! People feed these donkeys no matter how many times the rangers ask for them not to. Donkeys are very social animals and come up to people without any coaxing. They are beautiful and comical and seem very tame towards people.
Enjoy the photos...we never knew how lush South Dakota prairies are. I hope this gives a hint as to its awesomeness.
