Skirting the gas shortage by getting gas at an obscure station enroute....we arrive in Nashville and join up with Sass and Louise at Phil Anania's house. Davey Lindquist (dear friend for too many years to count) is there and it is a grand reunion! Phil and Davey are both accomplished musicians .... there is magic in the air when they get together!!
We all start right in with non-stop talking to catch up on each other's lives and settle the homeland and Global problems!!! All this talk makes us all starving for.....more BBQ!!! We head out to Shanes Rib Shack and all concur that Shane's is number one for us. Although it is a chain, the manager makes a difference and this branch is super for us! The meat is cooked just right and the best sauce accompanies it adding as much or as little as you wish
Phil and Davey let us hear some songs in progress they are working on together...wonderful! I do hope they keep at it!! Then we all watched a funny movie about the life and times of Mr.Kellog (as in Kellog's Corn Flakes) which was filmed at Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz. Hysterical movie!!
Monday 22nd
All of us take a walk to get some excerise and check out Phil's neighborhood. Nice houses! Good neighborhood! Phil and I go shopping for some surf and turf for dinner. We settle on Phil's specialty of Shrimp Scampi and his famous marinated flank steak on the grill. I add a salad and make Phil's suggested dressing of blended seedless grapes, lemon juice and oregano. FANTASTIC....everyone must try this!
Phil roasted up some green beans and garlic that surpassed all we had eaten in Chinese restaurants! Andy grilled the steak to perfection and Sass, our surgeon, sliced it into the most excellent strips for the most tender and best flavor. Louise organized all the seating, settings and keeping everything washed up as we went
After dinner Phil took us all to The Station Inn to hear The Time Jumpers play some ass kicking music!! What a treat to hear live music in Nashville! The Station is funky and wonderful! Could use a better sound system according to Phil but he has some higher level ears than most! Anyone who will be in Nashville on a Monday night surely must go to The Station and hear the tunes!!
Tuesday 23rd
Sass, Louise, Jodie and Andy all move on out to their respective places in the sun. We will join up with Sass and Louise after we explore some lakes and Rivers in TN. Bye for now!

We ate like kings and Queens topping it off with grilled pineapple rings to cleanse the palate and help with digestion.
