Arrived at Grand Teton National Park around 3:00pm and checked in. Off to take a walk when we stopped in at the activities center to see what there was to do. A river raft group of 10 had room for two more and was leaving at 5:00pm! Off we went! Drove down the road about 5 miles to the Park's main lodge. There, we were picked up along with our new best friends by a small bus and transported about 25 minutes away to the Snake River.
We were given flotation devices and left with our guide, Scott, who immediately established his authority, knowledge and expertice. He took us for a raft ride to be remembered. I had ever been in a river raft so it was all fabulous! As the sun set we all listened to Scott tell us story after story of the history and lore of the Grand Tetons, the Snake River and all the critters in the Park.
Three and a half hours of River, moose, beavers, stories and "big sky" over ragged, rough mountains we were all ready to climb ashore. As darkness overtook us we climbed, cold and happy into the bus for our ride home. We know how blessed we are to be out here experiencing such closeness to the grandeur of nature.
