We head out for Arco for a shot stay overnight and to take a side trip to the recommended Craters of the Moon National park. Arco is about half closed down with the other half open and friendly. The RV park owners gave us a free breakfast of eggs and pancakes and coffee at their clean little cafe.

The morning began with rain and hail. Good grief! We decided to go to Craters Natl. Park no matter what as it came so highly recommended. Oddly, it isn't even mentioned in the Town! This town is interesting with submarines on Main Street although we are far from any major body of water, and one of the best DVD selections ever in a tiny store that also served us some of the best lattes. Served not only hot and rich but with a cookie balanced on top and a sticker of friendliness and patriotism stuck to the edge!

I will let the pictures take you through the incredible lava floes and scatter mounds that create the landscape for 52 miles along the fissure that errupted about 2000 years ago. The white hail on the black lava made the scene even more surreal.
