this entry will be a group of day trips that we did in the area...not in chronological order or any order!
While staying in Carlee and Mercury's driveway we wished to be as non-invasive as possible to assure an extended stay. In good RV fashion we went off on our own to do laundry and shopping and to take showers. Our RV has a lovely shower but it is a bit more complicated with Maudie's kitty litter and food set up in there. Not to mention it takes a lot of water to take a shower and so then one must deal with "dumping" the grey water more frequently etc.... so off to Fay Bainbridge State Park. What a delight! It is about a 10 minute drive, our style (that is slow!) from the house and is located right on the water with a gorgeous beach! We go to take a shower and to do a dump and we stay for hours lolling on the beach!
Andy and I went on in to an Undersea Museum we passed a few times coming and going to Merc's. It was well worth it!!! What incredible displays....I particularly enjoyed the old style or antique diver helmets.
The pictures will tell the tale better than I can.....
-bike riding with Mercury;
-a camp over at Crescent Lake and kayaking in that most extraordinary water!;
-Camping at the Ho Rain Forest of the Olympic National Park.
All done this week while Carlee and Merc continued their lives. We will catch up with all they did this week while riding the skiff over to Vashon Island to visit with Barbara (Carlee's Mom) and Doug on their farm. Can't wait.
Gotta say a word or two about a couple we met at Ho. Mayomi and Shanti were checking out the postings of ranger programs when we all started talking. We fell in so easily they came on over and we got to know each other a bit. Mayomi is a medical doctor who also includes alternative healing modalities in her practice. I have been feeling unbalanced for the past two weeks or so and after talking with her for a bit, she offered to do some acupuncture, acupressure, and Reiki on me to help raise my energy and get me more balanced. What a fantastic experience! Here I was in the Ho Rain Forest next to a glacier river getting balanced by a blue eyed 'sprite like' doctor with acupuncture! I am so so blessed! I feel GREAT! I do hope we stay in touch with these wonderful people!
