July 3rd.
We arrive at Carlee and Mercury's house on Bainbridge Island!! Mercury is my (Jodie's) son who happily married Carlee last August. This house is where Carlee and her brother Alden grew up with their Mom, Barbara. It is a spectacular home over looking Manzanita Bay. What a view and to think one can walk on down the stairs and be on a bay of the Pacific Ocean!

We parked in the Driveway as close neighbors to the hen house! Merc built this great little pen to house his girls! Young'uns yet....eggs are still to come. We enjoy their antics and sounds.

We share the driveway with Carlee's newly rennovated and customized truck for "Farm Courier" delivery service of local, organic produce, groceries, prepared foods and much much more. www.farmcourier.com

We get our hellos out of the way and get to work helping Carlee get ready for her 4th of July booth at the Town Fair. We all pitch in to make it a success. Carlee, as is her style, has everything beautifully arranged and managed. It can't miss!!!

July 4th

On our way to the fair, Andy, Mercury and I stop in at Merc's ReMax office to see where he does his magic!!! He has become the Bainbridge Island and beyond REaltor extradinaire! www.mercurymichael.com

The Town Fair is fabulous and we all arrive home tired (not as exhausted as Carlee) and happy. We ate local BBQ, listened to live music and met loads of wonderful people at Carlee's booth that generated a constant stream of curious and entusiastic visitors. Carlee kept on smiling and talking!!!

July 5th

Andy and I got to go out onto Manzanita Bay with Merc and Carlee's kayaks. The beauty never ends! Summer is not complete without BBQs with friends....Andy whipped up his famous Margaritas as Alec and John whipped up their steaks. Mercury prepared walla walla sweet onions and zucchini for grilling as well as pinto beans and one smashing potato salad. I added a swiss chard salad and we had one amazing meal! But first...games of pickle ball to get hot enough to go down to the shore and swim, wake board and drink some of those margaritas in the sunset. Now with the hunger peaked...up we went to enjoy a meal for the kings! Carlee had the glasses shined and table and buffet beautifully arranged for us to feel like the kings and queens of the Manzanita Margarita famous steak and veggie dinner. Dessert, if you could do it....was fresh strawberries Carlee had picked that morning with vanilla ice cream! Good golly...we all fell into bed smiling and dreaming happy dreams.
