Stopped in for a 4 day visit with cousin Heidi who lives in Mill Valley, CA. The first night we stayed on the street in front of her place and she cooked us up a delicious meal starting with crudite, cheese, crackers and guacamole. The dinner was Sea Bass, rice pilaf, salad, asparagus and crusty bread. Many thanks for such a wonderful meal.

Heidi found an RV park for us to use which had a quaint and unobstructed view of San Quentin Prison (check out the pic) from our port side window. The park was close to her home and centrally located for our touring needs
She then took us on a driving tour of Mill Valley and the surrounding area. Some of the homes she showed us just clung onto the sides of the mountain and the roads to get there were so narrow they seemed like mountain goat trails. On our way to a sushi place for dinner, we toured the Mill Valley Library which is in the midst of giant redwoods and constructed from massive timbers....what a sweet place to chill out with a book. It had a long, wide deck that was situated about 25' above the ground and in the midst of the redwoods......what a peaceful place.

Heidi lived in San Francisco about 9 years ago, so she knows the city very well. After a full day of touring the city and eating in Chinatown, Jodie and I tried to get her to change careers to one of tour guide. She is a remarkable tour guide and her energy is endless. By the end of the day, Jodie and I had to bow out of joining her for dinner so we could go back to the RV for some sleep

On Saturday, we met Heidi's boyfriend Jeff and we all went hiking through Muir Woods to check out the giant Redwoods. The feeling of stepping back in time came over us as we walked amoung the two thousand plus year old trees. Once again, pictures just don't cover what goes on there. As we walked along, we overheard other tourists speaking in German, French, Japanese and Swedish. It's no wonder why people from all over the globe make a point of visiting Muir Woods.
June 1st.
We met Heidi, Jeff and Howie (Heidi's cousin) for brunch before taking off towards the east and Yosemite. The meal was tasty and the setting was on the water at a sunny marina. We caught up with Howie, talked for a couple of hours and said our goodbyes. Unfortunately, I left the batteries for my camera in the charger, so I have no pix to share.
Jodie and I both feel as if we have packed 2 weeks into the last 4 days. Once again, Heidi needs to become a tour guide.

Scenery on I-5
. We went way up to the top of Mt. Tamalpais and got a view of the entire area surrounding San Francisco and Mill Valley. It was a little hazy and the fog was rolling in, but we still had incredible 360 degree views from the fire lookout point. She then took us on a driving tour of Mill Valley and the surrounding area.
