Andy and I surprised my sister Lee and her mountain clan with our call of, "here we come!". Lee Lee took it well and offered John's driveway in Rogersville as a place for us to park. We called John and he, the charming man he is, took it well, welcoming us and inviting us to stay as long as we wished. The road and driveway to the farm in Sneedville is a bit rough with low branches for our RV so this was a perfect solution. April, Lee and John's daughter, offered us her car for our use while visiting!!! What a DOLL! We took full advantage!
After getting all settled in John's driveway, Andy and I walked on down the road to the center of Rogerville, a picture perfect town with everything anyone could want
Still having not heard back from Lee and April we headed on to The Realty Shop where Lee works with Sandra. Sure enough as we open the doors of this wonderful old restored brick building....we hear a squeel from none other than Lee! I squeel back in von Gal sister fashion!!! April also was there waiting for us! There is just too much to say about April to get it all in! It will take an entry of its own! Leave it to know she is exceptional in all she does and as a new lawyer we are confident she will make a wonderful contribution to the reputation of lawyers all over the world!!!
We talked and laughed with Sandra, Lee's broker and owner of this marvelous old building. Her son, Jessie was there holding down the shop while we all jabbered on till time for my haircut.
Walked on down to Jungs salon. Tall and handsome as the day is born..Jung is clearly the master of his salon! This man knows hair! What a fantastic cut and a head massage 'to die for'! It is important to mention here that the pix I got of this gorgeous dude, looks like he has a bald part which is not true
We had Mexican that night that knocked our socks off it was so good! Go Rogersville! Lee and April and John took us out to Edwina's, our sister, new land she has bought through Lee. What a beautiful piece of land. I most unfortunatley forgot my camera and so must only tell you how lovely, rich and exciting this property will be to have Edwina build her visions. I know Edwina will enjoy this land and the land will be so happy to have her as its helper.
Every morning that we stayed in John's driveway included a "coffee time" with John. He would stroll out of the house with a pot of freshly brewed coffee and join us in the RV for breakfast and converstions. John, being the scientist and generally well informed man that he is, updated us on current events and answered all of the questions we had about raising bees, chickens, pigs and other various livestock. What a cool dude!
We had wonderful times of talking like crazy and catching up on everything. I must mention Buddies BBQ! Andy bought great amounts of Buddies for us all to chow down on at John's. He remembered Buddies BBQ from our last visit many years back
Lee came to Tennessee many years ago with her two young sons, Jung and Kurt in tow. She landed in Rogersville and built a life. Then found her ultimate love on the other side of the Clinch Mountain in Sneedville. She bought and built a farm in Lee Valley, Sneedville. She met John and they bore April built of nothing but love and hard farm living. Great food right out of the land. Lee built her wood working talents into a full blooming reputaion as John became a knowledgable farmer. John then broke his leg and became interestd in the physical therapy that he went through. Through much work and olympic determination, he now holds a PHD in brain immunology. John is now a professor of Chemistry. WOW what life will do if you are willing to do the work! Lee continues her farm on a ladies level, does some woodworking and is a super busy and successful realtor. Another example of the surprises in life!
The Sneedville farm over the Clinch Mountain is quite the museum quality home and farm so without ado...I will simple let you, dear reader, enjoy taking a walk through this home via the pictures. Pictures are worth a thousand words.
We got to visit with Jung's wife, Kelly and one of four daughters, Cassie for just a minute or two. We also spent only a few minutes with Kurt (Lee's oldest son) and wife Stephanie and daughter Tabby... Kurt and Jung both live nearby. Lucky Lee Lee.
