After a rough nights sleep in Yangon and with the general grubbiness of the city kicking in we thought we had just enough time for a couple of days on the beach, hurrah!

Not the nicest of beaches in Burma, but still the only one you can get to easily from Yangon, we headed to Chaungtha on a 6 hour bus journey.

The guesthouse that had been recommended to us was great, the staff were really friendly and took our bags and gave us a welcome drink when we arrived! We're not used to such luxury! The beach was nice so spent the day chilling there, and then the next day used a fancy resorts swimming pool which was great!

Highlight of the trip to the beach was the food, especially the restaurant at our guesthouse. The seafood was fresh and delicious and had king prawn curries and steamed fish and other amazing grub which made up for the fact that most of the food in Burma is pretty poor...there's only so many samosas a girl can eat!

Still, we had a great adventure in Burma. The people were so welcoming and friendly, some of the scenery and temples it has to offer are incredible and it is sure to become a popular place within south east asia. I'm just so pleased that we've got to see it now before everyone else gets there!
