We headed off today to visit Pustina, a small village outside of Prague where Matt's ancestors hail from. In fact, his great great grandfather was mayor of this village. Pretty cool stuff. We had to take a train to Vyseko Myto, a village of maybe 12,000. We weren't sure how we were going to get to the town of Pustina from there, but we didn't think it was too far away. We got to Vyseko, and walked around for a bit.

We had lunch at a small restaurant with obviously no english anywhere on the menu. I played the game and oh did I win! I got a steak with bacon on top and these delicious fry-like potatoes I definitely order every time now. It was the best meal I've had in the Czech and set me back a whopping 8 bucks. With a beer. Thank you small town prices!

It's funny but that small town atmosphere we speak of in the States carries over worldwide. The people were great here you could tell everyone knew we were visitors. We went to the bus station and started to ask about Pustina. This driver comes around from behind the desk and says "3 km!" in a friendly voice. He waives us to follow him, so we do. We get on a bus with him and off we go. About 10 stops and 20 minutes later I look at Matt and say "we've gone way more than 3 km." Little did I know...

He stops a couple stops later and looks at us and nods, so we get off. We look back at him and he points to the left and says "3km!"

Great.

Well, we walked 3km, and sure enough, it was there. It was a tiny village but absolutely peaceful. We both enjoyed being in the country for once. It was great to see fields and smell grass.

The city limit signs cracked me up, so check out those pics. We almost ended up stranded back at the bus stop, but managed to literally run down the bus. That was a 7 mile journey i didn't really feel like walking. On the way home we noticed a train stop about an hour from Brno has a man made ski place, but the snow was melted mostly. Bummer.
