The hotel was about an hour or so outside of the airport. After looking at a subway map, I figured out how to get there, and off we went. We stopped at one of the larger stations and had lunch. I'm pretty sure they were the biggest slices of pizza ever (see below). We made it to the hotel, but the room wasn't ready. I asked the concierge if there were any nice restaurants around. Lauren and I brought some formal clothes to make up for lack of Valentine's Day and her birthday dinners. He told me there was, and that if we went and looked at it and approved, he would make reservations for us
Our reservation was at 8, and it was only 4, so we decided to head into town just to get a little sightseeing in. It took about 40 minutes from the hotel to get to the city centre depending on how well you timed the subway. We started our walk at Musee D'Orsay, walked up Champs De Elysees to the Arch De Triomphe, and down to the Eiffel Tower.
Then we realized we were going to have to book it to make it back in time for Lauren to get ready. So we ran. Haha we got on the subway in time and made it back with plenty of time.
The restaurant was a really nice little place. It was basically a 4 course menu for a fixed price, and you picked an entree, a meal, then came cheese, then you picked a dessert, which they served with champagne. For the main dish, I had a lamb steak in duck liver sauce, which was AMAZING. Lauren had chicken with vegetables, which she also said was really really good. I won't bother telling you the other 6 dishes we had, but they were all really good.
We went back to the hotel and had one drink to make up for my lack of being at her 21st. Tomorrow we are going to do the Louvre and then the Tower for a while, and are supposed to meet up with Matt and the girls, as well as Matt's parents, who are flying over tomorrow (Matt's dad is on business).
