Upon locating the hotel where we were going to spend the night before flying out of the Toulouse airport, the desk staff notified us that there were no rooms left, nor would there likely be any nearby. We booked a room on Travelocity at a nearby internet café, and drove across town to the new hotel, but were informed that no rooms were available there either - even though we had already confirmed a reservation online. The woman at the desk had already made a reservation for us at another hotel, only a few blocks from the one we had just left an hour or two earlier.
Finally, after crossing back through town, we had a room for the night. Being very hungry after driving for several hours, we went straight out for pizza, which we found nearby. The man working there directed us to a great place to watch the France-Spain World Cup game (the quarter-final), something between a bar and a disco. It was a fantastic game, one of the best of the Cup, and France ended up winning 3-1. The streets of Toulouse were quite lively afterward, with plenty of car horns, shouts of "Allez les Bleus", and flag-waving. Having had our fill of fun for the evening, we returned to our hotel and flew to Stuttgart the next morning.
